Farewell old friend

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Russell Harriman.

Russ was a cherished member of the Matsuura family for 28 years.

He began his career in the spray shop during the UK manufacturing era and progressed to play a key role in leading our IT and Fleet infrastructure — a testament to his dedication, adaptability, and multi-faceted skillset & expertise.

Beyond his professional achievements, Russ’s deep commitment to his family and his many hobbies and interests was truly inspiring. He lived life with passion and purpose, always making time for what mattered most to him – his family.

To those who worked with him, Russ was more than a colleague — he was a loyal friend. Ever ready to lend support or share a few words of thoughtful, often humour-filled wisdom, he had a gift for making people feel heard and valued, and gifting them clarity through his advice.

His warmth, integrity, and unforgettable stories will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Russ leaves behind a space that can never truly be filled. Our thoughts are with his wife Alison, his children Amie and Daniel, his grandchildren, and especially his grandson Tyler, who proudly continues Russ’s legacy as an apprentice at Matsuura.

Old friend, you will be missed and remembered.
