Ilmor Engineering choose Matsuura again – this time investing in our flagship 32 pallet, 5 axis machine – the world leading MAM72-35V. This is one of many UK CNC machining businesses who have chosen to carry on investing in their UK manufacturing operations, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking of their investment, Lee Hodgson, Operations Manager at Ilmor, said;

“Ilmor Engineering has for many years manufactured high precision components on Matsuura 5 axis machines.

We identified the MAM72-35V when we wanted to increase our capability & capacity. We were impressed with the small footprint of the MAM72-35V, but possessing large pallet and tooling capacity ensuring we have fully automated “Lights Out” production. This machine maintains and enhances our competitiveness within the marketplace.

Once ordered, the machine installation and commissioning planning communications was very good, with no surprises experienced. Collaborating closely with the Matsuura team, the Installation went exactly to plan, even with the COVID-19 pandemic taking effect.
