Live 3D Printing and 5 Axis

Technically, these are very interesting times at Matsuura UK - even by our leading edge standards.

Our Engineering and Applications Department have been pushing the limits of what is possible with 5 axis CNC workholding printed on our HP Multi-Jet Fusion 4200.

For Southern Manufacturing 2019, we are combining large capacity, heavy duty 5 axis machining on the Matsuura MX-850 with workholding we have printed on one of our HP Multi-Jet Fusion 4200 printers.

The benefits to this method of creating workholding are many fold; the ability to produce your own workholding inhouse matching the CAD model of your workpiece is just one example - reducing turnaround time and delivering faster routes to market. The cost savings are also enormous.

Our testing of these workholding fixtures - including CNC machining certain facets & faces on the fixture, have yielded some incredible results.

Even our own time served Matsuura Engineers, who spend every day at the cutting edge of CNC & 3D technology, are astounded by the incredible speed of change within our industry & by just what is now possible by combining additive and subtractive processes into a production workflow.

The future is now. See us on Stand E260 at Southern Manufacturing 2019.
