Slimline is a shrink-fit toolholding system that uses the difference between the thermal expansion coefficients of the holder and cutting tool to firmly and accurately hold a cutting tool.

The material used in manufacturing the holder is able to achieve cool shrink fitting at temperatures of 300 Deg. C or lower. MST’s unique, high thermal expansion coefficient material was developed exclusively for this purpose. Slimline uses an industrial-dryer-based, hot air, shrink–fit heater. A line up of 3,000 holders with different shapes are available for use with end mills, drills and reamers in a wide variety of applications from high-speed precision machining to heavy duty cutting.
The Slimline holders require no other parts (nut, collets etc) to insert cutting tools. It’s simple, ultra-slim shape allows the shortest possible cutter overhang, providing strong, stable clamping strength while maintaining high precision.
