SLIMLINE:
Slimline is a shrink-fit toolholding system that uses the difference between the thermal expansion coefficients of the holder and cutting tool to firmly and accurately hold a cutting tool.

The material used in manufacturing the holder is able to achieve cool shrink fitting at temperatures of 300 Deg. C or lower. MST’s unique, high thermal expansion coefficient material was developed exclusively for this purpose. Slimline uses an industrial-dryer-based, hot air, shrink–fit heater. A line up of 3,000 holders with different shapes are available for use with end mills, drills and reamers in a wide variety of applications from high-speed precision machining to heavy duty cutting.

The Slimline holders require no other parts (nut, collets etc) to insert cutting tools. It’s simple, ultra-slim shape allows the shortest possible cutter overhang, providing strong, stable clamping strength while maintaining high precision.
 
  • Thermal expansion coefficient is 1.6 times higher than that of regular steel.
  • Shrink fitting and removing is achieved using a hot-air heater.
  • Can be immersed in water to cool it off.
  • Will not overheat even if heated for a long time.
  • Ultra thin 1.5mm edge walls and a variety of holder shapes.
  • Cutter diameters from Æ3mm to Æ25m.
  • Slimline can be customised by conventional turning to give further / bespoke accessibility on tight access, hard to reach pockets and recesses.
 
MST COLLET HOLDER SYSTEMS:
 
The Deta collet holding system offers a pre-balanced design for stable, vibration-free, high-speed machining operations. MST features precision spring collets with a high degree of concentricity that dramatically extends and enhances cutter life.
 
  • Each collet has a maximum collapsibility of 2mm
  • DETa chucks only require 6 collets to clamp from Æ2.5mm to Æ13mm.
  • The pull collet design securely tightens the 12 segment collet to an accuracy of 5 microns
  • DTA has an intermediate tightening nut for easy operation.
  • DTB range is of an ultra slim design that allows an easier approach to the work-piece and reduces cutter overhang, performing exceptionally well in High-Speed applications for extended periods of operation.
  • DTE possesses a ultra precision ground body for improved balance applications during High-Speed operations, with the benefits of true thru, or flood coolant.
 
The CTH collet holder has a 6 degree taper, much smaller than that found on conventional collet holders, providing a more secure cutter grip. In spite of its compact design, the collet holder is thick enough to withstand the heavier radial loads resulting from high metal cutting rates. Accuracy and side-feed rigidity are remarkably higher than that of needle-roller-type milling chucks.

·         CTH provides overall grinding around the body for improved balance characteristics.
·         CTH offers excellent balance features and is highly recommended for High-Speed operations at 12,000 RPM and above.
